Brits and their Holidays Abroad

Posted in General on 17 December 2012

Everyone loves going on holiday, but what have been the recent trends for British holiday-makers, given the continuing economic difficulties?

The infographic below shows what we, as a nation, were doing in terms of travel in 2011. Clearly, we Brits decided that we’d had enough of austerity and felt that a holiday would do us good as 2011 saw a rise in trips abroad for the first time since 2006.

Having said that, the average cost per trip fell slightly when compared to 2010, so perhaps there was a drive towards holidaying in cheaper areas or maybe there were more bargains on the high streets and online during 2011.
