The Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) has undertaken research that shows nearly one in five holidaymakers is going abroad without travel insurance, according to the International Travel Insurance Journal (ITIJ).

ABTA polled over 2,000 people and found that 17% of respondents did not think that it is important to take out travel out travel cover before they travelled.

The study also revealed other worrying statistics such as 16% of respondents believing that the UK government would cover the cost of medical expenses incurred abroad.

Voyager Travel Insurance includes £10 million pounds of medical expenses as standard at competitive prices, so there is no reason not to take out travel insurance. For more information click here.
