Association of British Insurers Recommends Wedding Insurance

The Association of British Insurers (ABI) has released an article recommending that couples take out Wedding Insurance to protect their big day.

Nick Starling, Director of General Insurance and Health at the ABI states: "While wedding insurance can't guarantee that everything will go without a hitch, it can give you the peace of mind that any unforeseen events will be covered and go a long way to easing those pre-wedding jitters. It won't cover your other half getting cold feet, but it can reassure you that an already expensive day doesn't become even more costly."

The article also notes, as we reported last year, that just 1 in 4 couples take out wedding insurance to protect their big day which is surprising as many commentators claim that the cost of the average wedding in the UK costs in the region of £20,000.

Dreamsaver Wedding Insurance has four tiers of cover to protect your wedding and starts from just £24 for the silver level of cover with £6,000 of cancellation cover.
All Dreamsaver policies cover:

  • Wedding Cancellation
  • Re-arrangement of the Wedding
  • Financial Failure of wedding suppliers
  • Public liability for the Bride and Groom
  • Ceremonial attire (for example the Wedding Dress)
  • Wedding gifts
  • Wedding rings
  • Wedding flowers
  • Wedding cake
  • Wedding photography

Your Dreamsaver wedding insurance policy can be extended to include Public liability for your guests or to include cover for marquees after paying an additional premium.
