ABI Recommends Wedding Insurance
Posted in General on 21 July 2011
The Association of British Insurers (ABI) has released an article recommending that couples take out Wedding Insurance to protect their big day.
Nick Starling, Director of General Insurance and Health at the ABI states: "While wedding insurance can't guarantee that everything will go without a hitch, it can give you the peace of mind that any unforeseen events will be covered and go a long way to easing those pre-wedding jitters. It won't cover your other half getting cold feet, but it can reassure you that an already expensive day doesn't become even more costly."
The article also notes, as Dreamsaver Wedding Insurance reported in last year, that just 1 in 4 couples take out wedding insurance to protect their big day which is surprising as the BBC reported that the average cost of and Asian wedding in the UK was in the region of £30,000 back in 2007 and is likely to have risen since then.
Asian Wedding Insurance has three tiers of cover to protect your wedding and starts from just £59 pounds for the silver level of cover with £15,000 of cancellation cover.
All Asian wedding insurance policies cover:
- Wedding Cancellation
- Re-arrangement of the Wedding
- Financial Failure of wedding suppliers
- Public liability for the Bride and Groom
- Ceremonial attire (for example the Wedding Dress or Saree)
- Wedding gifts
- Wedding flowers
- Wedding photography
Your Asian wedding insurance policy can be extended to include Public liability for your guests or to include cover for marquees after paying an additional premium.
